Toronto's Alex Anthopoulos |
According a report by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports,
Toronto officials are letting it be known that there is no way they will allow their manager, John Farrell, to go to the rival Boston Red Sox. This, despite the fact that many of these same team sources admit they aren't exactly thrilled with Farrell's track record with the Jays over the last two years. Frankly, this makes a lot of sense. Why would Toronto GM Alex Anthopoulos give their "second-division" mates the gift of the skipper they clearly want—no matter what the compensation. He's in the business of beating Boston in the standings—which, by the way, he
did this year.
