Greinke Is Top Choice As New Sox Starter

The early results to our latest FenwayNation Poll indicate that readers want the team to sign Zack Greinke to augment the 2013 rotation of Buchholz, Lester, Doubront and Lackey. As the chart shows, the Brewers' right-hander garners 26.6% of the vote as the one starter the Red Sox should pursue this Winter. Jake Peavy comes in second, polling 18.0% of the vote, followed by Dan Haren at 14.1%, Ervin Santana at 12.5%, Hiroki Kuroda at 10.2%, Greinke's teammate Shaun Marcum at 8.6% and Gavin Floyd at 7.8%. Someone other than these seven is picked by just 2.3%. It's interesting that Greinke would be the first choice of our readers, considering that his past struggles with anxiety would not seem to make him a good fit in Boston.
