FN Editor With Cody Ross |
According to
WEEI.com's
Rob Bradford,
contract discussions between the Red Sox and free-agent outfielder Cody Ross are gaining "momentum". Talks between the two sides were only at the informal stage during the season itself, and now seem to be ramping up in anticipation of the upcoming free agency window. Ross clouted 22 home runs and knocked in 81 runs for the Carmine Hose in 2012. The Red Sox need to make Ross a key building block going forward—along with Ortiz, Pedroia, Ellsbury and Middlebrooks—to make a return to respectability in the next few years.
