| Johnny Pesky At A Somerville Charity Event In 1961 |
The Red Sox announced today that they will hold a
"Celebration Of Life" for team icon Johnny Pesky after a day game at Fenway Park on Sunday, September 23rd. Pesky (seen here in a photo from 1961) died on August 13th at the age of 93. The ceremony will begin around 6PM and fans will be allowed into Fenway free of charge to join in the events. The park will remain open until 9PM so that fans can walk the warning track and observe a series of displays highlighting Pesky's life. Congratulations to the Red Sox for offering fans this opportunity to pay their final tributes to one of The Nation's greatest citizens.
