Pedey Grabs Early Lead In Player O' Year Voting
The first returns are in, and new daddy Dustin Pedroia is the clear leader as the 2012 FenwayNation Player of The Year. As the table shows, fully half of all responses support The Laser Show (50.0%), followed distantly by Cody Ross at 22.6%. Long-time fan favorite David Ortiz—whose stellar year was cut short due to injury—comes in third in the balloting at 16.1%. Sox backstop Jarrod Saltalamacchia comes in fourth place, garnering support from 6.5% of readers. Impressive rookie third baseman Will Middlebrooks gets 4.8% of the vote, while departed Adrian Gonzalez did not get a single tally. You can still vote in the poll HERE.
