Josh Beckett has always been a pretty decent hitter. In 2006, he became the first Red Sox pitcher to hit a home run in 35 years (off the Phillies' Brett Myers). Yesterday, as a Dodger, he smoked a base hit to rightfield on a 2-2 pitch. Unfortunately, it was quickly scooped on two hops by one of the best defensive outfielders in the game—Carlos Beltran.
