For the first time since he had Tommy John surgery,
John Lackey threw off a mound—hurling 15 live batting practice pitches to teammates. Lackey said his arm felt good, but that—not surprisingly—location was off. If he feels no discomfort, he is scheduled to throw again on Wednesday. As we have said before, if Lackey can pitch to the levels he attained prior to coming to Boston, it would be a huge lift to this rotation in 2013.
