Welcome To Astros Baseball! |
By the time the final out is recorded, the 2012 season could be the worst by a Red Sox team in two decades. Things are
that bad. But consider for a moment the plight of the
Houston Astros and their fans. First of all, they are 44-97—a mere 40.5 games out of first place. Secondly, they are moving from the NL Central to the AL West next year—a DH-less team competing with the likes of the Rangers, Angels and A's. And, now, we find that during this past Sunday's telecast of the Astros-Reds game
a whopping 1,092 households in the Houston Metro area were tuned in. That's 1,092 of a possible 2.1 million households. That's the lowest TV rating ever in franchise history.
And they won the game. So, as you watch Ciriaco, Podsednik, Nava and Loney this week, just remember: it could be a
lot worse.
