Wishing A Happy 73rd Birthday To Yaz!

Yastrzemski At Bat In 1967 World Series
Carl Yastrzemski—the Hall Of Famer, 18-time All-Star, 1967 MVP, and last Triple Crown winner—turns 73 years old today. For those of us who watched him play for the Red Sox for 23 seasons, it's hard to believe he's reached that milestone. We still see him tumbling to make "a tremendous catch" in New York. We still see him hitting endless clutch base hits in the Impossible Dream season of 1967. We still see him—again an All-Star at age 43—circling Fenway Park to salute his loyal fans in a final good-bye. When the painfully reclusive Yastrzemski rearely appears at Red Sox events, we relive all of those great moments and cherish the memory of the kind of player we seldom see today—a one-team lifer. Thanks, Yaz.
