Still Sore Papi Could Get Injection On Monday

Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz has been on the DL for three weeks—and his Achilles injury is still sore. Reports indicate that he may be injected today with some sort of anaesthetic to allow him to continue working out without so much pain. The short-term prognosis, however—shot or no shot—is not good. Ortiz seems frustrated with the lack of progress (stop us if you've heard this from a Red Sox player before), and basically has no clue when he'll return to the line-up. Adrian Gonzalez has picked up the offensive slack in Papi's absence, but the Red Sox need his presence in the middle of the line-up to be effective.
