Sox Sign 'David Wells-Type' Venezuelan Hurler

The Red Sox signed 16-year old Venezuelan pitcher Dedgar Jimenez—who has been described as having a "David Wells-type frame". The 6'3", 254-pounder has had significant international tournament success, and already features a fastball near 90 MPH.
