Another lead lost, another stupid running play, another crushing defeat. Instead of
progressing at Progressive—with a golden opportunity to smite a team on the downfall—
Boston regressed with a 5-3 loss. Felix Doubront carried a 3-1 lead into the fifth inning, then lost it. Adrian Gonzalez's 12th homerun of the year—which gave them a 2-1 lead—was wasted. The Indians—who had lost eleven straight prior to Wednesday—got their second straight win. Boston has now lost seven of their last nine.
