Carl Crawford was taken out of yesterday's blow-out win for precautionary reasons related to soreness in his surgically-repaired wrist. This comes at a time when Crawford is helping energize a resurgent offense—and looking like the guy the Red Sox spent all that free agent money on. Losing Crawford for even a short period of time on this crucial trip would be devasting—with both David Ortiz and Will Middlebrooks down. Hopefully, a cortisone shot or two will do the trick. Of course, Crawford's other big concern—his inevitable Tommy John elbow surgey—is probably going to impact the team well into 2013.
