Will Middlebrooks can't do it all by himself. He did his best today, launching another three-run home run to temporarily tie the game at nine. The kid hammered an 0-2 pitch from veteran Roy Oswalt—adding to the growing legend of 'Will The Thrill' (apologies to Will Clark). But, in the end, bad pitching created
a frustrating 10-9 loss to the Rangers—and a hideous 4-6 homestand. The Red Sox valiantly tried to come back from multiple deficits—thanks to another terrible start by Josh Beckett (8 earned runs in five plus innings). But despite good offensive performances by Middlebrooks, A-Gon (three RBI doubles) and Cody Ross (HR), it wasn't enough. The loss drops the Carmine Hose to two games under .500 as they head out on a 10-game road trip to Cleveland, Baltimore and Sodom-On-The-Hudson.
