The evening had about as much drama as you could imagine. The return of Youk. The premier of Carl. Jacoby back at Fenway. Another phony sell-out. And,
a 5-1 victory. Youk came through (after his rousing standing "O") with three hits and a hustle run. Crawford got on base twice and scored twice.
But it was really the performances of Aaron Cook (7 shutout innings with a Derek Lowe-like sinker) and Adrian Gonzalez (a three-run 8th inning HR and 4 RBIs) that stood out. Oh, and, ho-hum, Pedro Ciriaco got three more hits. But, as with all good things this year, there is a bad thing.

David Ortiz, while rounding second base on Gonzo's HR,
aggravated his Achilles problem and will likely be out
at least 3 games. Get one back, lose one. In any event, the win pulled the Sox two over .500 and out of the cellar.
