The New York Metropolitans have expressed interest in Red Sox back-up catcher Kelly Shoppach. The 32-year old has done well against left-handed pitching this year and owns a .902 career OPS against port-siders. Of course, dealing Shoppach would open up a spot for Ryan Lavarnway, who continues to rip up AAA while improving his catching skills (.306 AVG/ .395 OBP).
