| Somehow, It's Just Not The Same |
A little bit of the spit and vinegar is missing in this match-up between the Evil Ones and The Olde Towne Team. Being 7 1/2 games behind is part of it, but it's also the fact that a lot of the pieces that make for a good series are missing. Boston will be without
Dustin Pedroia,
Will Middlebrooks (at least until Sunday),
Jacoby Ellsbury,
Carl Crawford,
Clay Buchholz, and
Andrew Bailey. And the Pinstriped Posers won't be able to bring in their closer—
Mariano Rivera—to blow another save at Fenway. Nothing seems right! Not to mention that fact that the two guys Yankee fans probably hated the most—
Youkilis and
Papelbon—aren't even in town. And even if Youk
were still here, his nemesis,
Joba The Mutt, is back home at some
Deliverance festival. It's just not the same, you know?
