Headed To Miami? |
Rumors continued to circulate Wednesday afternoon about
a potential blockbuster trade that would send Carl Crawford (and a prospect) from the Red Sox to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Hanley Ramirez and closer Heath Bell. While this may be more smoke than fire, it's easy to see how both sides might be intrigued by such a move. It would be an analog to the mammoth deal in 2004 that sent Nomar Garciaparra out of town—and, arguably, lit the spark that led to a World Championship. Boston unloads a player involved in a bad, costly free agent signing. The Marlins could get rid of their still messy Hanley-Reyes Thing and also dump the disappointing Bell. Who knows? Maybe it's just weird enough to happen.
