Olney: Josh Beckett Unlikely To Be Traded

Likely Going Nowhere
Despite the rumors swirling all weekend, it appears that Josh Beckett will be starting for the Red Sox on Tuesday night against Justin Verlander. According to ESPN's Buster Olney, it's highly unlikely that the big Texas righty will be dealt—mostly due to the fact that Boston would have to eat a substantial portion of the $36.5 million still owed Beckett through 2014. Much more likely a scenario is that BenCher deals off his excess OF assets and comes back with a middle-level starting pitcher Like Jason Vargas or one who has fallen out favor with their team like James Shields.
