Leominster Cop Suspended In Crawford Case

Worcester Telegram Photo
A Leominster, Massachusetts police officer was suspended and will face a disciplinary hearing after he allegedly hurled a racial slur at Carl Crawford. The hearing could result in the officer being further disciplined, or even fired, according to Leominster Police Chief Robert Healey (photo). The incident took place at Manchester, NH's Northeast Delta Dental Stadium—the home of the AA New Hampshire FisherCats (Blue Jays). Crawford was playing for the AA Portland Seadogs on a rehab assignment when the incident occurred. He had the following comment on the incident: "You would think we would have grown past that kind of stuff." Amen.
