Johnson Seen As Preferred Sox Pitching Target
The early results to our latest FenwayNation Poll indicate that Miami's Josh Johnson is the preferred choice among readers as the top starting pitching target in any Red Sox trade. As the pie chart shows, Johnson garners 40.3% of the vote, followed by Tampa's "Big Game" James Shields (23.6%), the Brewers' Zack Greinke (20.8%), the Cubbies' Ryan Dempster (9.7%) and the Twins' Francisco Liriano (5.6%). Chicago's Matt Garza—who had been mentioned as a possible target in the past, was not listed since most trade pundits no longer have the Sox in the running for the spitting right-hander.
