| Ciriaco At Spring Training |
After placing Dustin Pedroia on the disabled list with a new injury to the old thumb,
Boston called up infielder Pedro Ciriaco from Pawtcuket. Ciriaco is likely to play second base in The Muddy Chicken's absence against the Pinstriped Posers this weekend. The 26-year old Dominican is listed as a shortstop, but can play other infield positions as well. He's been doing well at AAA—making the All-Star team this year. Ciriaco saw limited playing time with Pittsburgh over the last two years, and was signed by Boston as a free agent last January.
