Empire Falls—Sox Take Two Of Three In Bronx

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Maybe the Red Sox need to follow the pattern of the last two nights: get an early lead, blow it, then come back to win. On Sunday, Boston carried a 2-0 lead into the seventh inning before Felix Doubront gave up a solo shot to narrow the gap to one. In the eighth, Alfredo Aceves let an inherited runner score with the tying run. But in the 10th, Yankee-Killer Pedro Ciriaco (11 for 22) blooped a Jeter-like single to right scoring Salty with the game-winner. Aceves closed out the win (3-2) and Boston was again even on the year—51-51. After taking two of three from the Evil Ones, will BenCher now be a buyer at the deadline? Stay tuned.
