The Red Sox line-up for tonight includes
Daniel Nava in the Designated Hitter spot—in place of the injured David Ortiz. Nava could spell Papi in the short-term, but any longer stint would likely trigger a call-up of Ryan Lavarnway as a more stable alternative. Reports have surfaced that an MRI on Ortiz showed no rupture or tear in his Achilles tendon. Nevertheless, it's still unclear at this hour how long he will be sidelined.
