In the 750th consecutive "sellout" at Fenway Park, Will Middlebrooks erased any doubt that he will be the third baseman at the 800th. The rookie had three more hits—including his 9th HR—to help power the Red Sox past Atlanta, 8-4.

Dustin Pedroia added three hits as well, driving in two, and Daniel Nava added two more with a clutch two-out single. Franklin Morales had his second straight good outing in a fill-in role for the injured Josh Beckett. Morales went 6 strong innings, yielding just 2 earned runs and striking out 8.
