Sports Media Mulls Dismantlement Scenarios
Slowly but surely, some in Boston's mainstream sports media are beginning to recognize that this edition of the Carmine Hose might be a tad deficient. Tony Massarotti correctly opined that the Red Sox no longer match up well with most teams on elite pitching. And, today, Globe beat writer Peter Abraham actually speculates on whether John Henry should just blow the club up before August. And, before you jump all over Abraham, see if you can honestly answer his question: "If on Aug. 1 the lineup included Middlebrooks, Ryan Kalish, Jose Iglesias and Ryan Lavarnway, would you care more or less about the team than you do right now?" Well?
