rejected the idea of the Red Sox retiring
Wade Boggs #26 on the Wall Of Honor in right field. In a surprisingly brisk vote, encompassing five continents, 41.5% favored the idea of honoring Boggs, while fully 58.5% opposed the idea. This was one of the highest participation rates we've seen in an FN Poll, and the results are a testament to the divisions Boggs still causes among Red Sox fans. Obviously, his winning a ring with The Evil Ones was one strike against him, but it's odd that a player with such major contributions to the franchise is shunned this way. That's what makes being a fan of the Carmine Hose so interesting.
