WEEI's Rob Bradford reports that
Dustin Pedroia has gotten rid of the custom-made brace he wore on his injured thumb early in his return to the line-up. This is good news, as the second baseman feels more comfortable with the injury—both physically and mentally. Now using just strategic padding rather than any brace or cast, he feels more able to handle the bat and attack inside pitches. His refreshing willingness to discuss these issues in detail could be an example for certain other members of the team who avoid the media when experiencing adversity.
