Josh Beckett will be skipped in his scheduled Sunday start due to "shoulder inflammation". Franklin Morales—who hasn't started since 2009—will take the mound in his place. Beckett has had flashes of his old self this year, but still carries a mediocre 4.14 ERA in 12 starts. He missed a start earlier in the year, which caused a controversy when it was discovered that he reportedly participated in a golf outing during his absence. In Pittsburgh last year, Beckett missed a Saturday start at PNC Park, and was reported to have returned to the team hotel the same day carrying golf clubs.
