As Yogi Berra used to say, ""You can observe a lot just by watching." And you have to watch closely to figure out why Felix Doubrant has been the most consistent Red Sox starter of 2012. It's not readily obvious, but a combination of composure and stuff has made the 24-year old lefty an absolute revelation. Today, he went just 6 1/3 innings, but mostly because of one of his few weaknesses: a high pitch count. He gave up only two earned runs and struck out seven in the eventual
7-4 win over Toronto in the shuttered SkyDome. The offense was keyed by the suddenly hot Nick Punto—who went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Punto hit his first ever Red Sox home run in the ninth.
