Clay Buchholz probably wishes Boston played
all its road games in The Great White North. The lanky right-hander won his sixth straight contest at SkyDome (Rogers Centre
this), going eight full innings to
beat the Jays, 7-2. With his re-constituted change-up, Buchholz breezed through the order (giving up two solo home runs for the scoring). For the second straight start, he looks like the pitcher we thought we had two years ago. If he can continue this string, our starting pitching will look a whole lot better. On the offensive side, Daniel Nava had four hits (3 doubles) and Papi went yard for the 13th time (one of three hits). Boston is now tied for fourth place—and just three back of Tampa for the AL East lead.
