In an interview this morning on
WEEI's Dennis & Callahan Morning Show, Red Sox GM Ben Cherington indicated that Daniel Nava's performance will continue to get him playing time once Carl Crawford returns from the DL. Cherington marvelled at the contributions of Nava—who wasn't even on the ten-strong Spring Training outfield depth chart this year. Saying Nava has essentially "carried" the team offensively since his call-up, he stated that he "has to find playing time" for the left-fielder. He hinted that Boston may deal some of what he termed the "surplus" of players in the outfield once everyone gets healthy. Cherington also stated that the trade of Kevin Youkilis was "good for everyone". You can hear the full audio of the interview from WEEI's webpage
