It took a while, but Daniel Bard has finally shown a little progress on his path back to the majors as a reliever. Last night,
he hurled a clean inning in the PawSox 5-1 win. His fastball is still "mired" in the mid-90's, but at least he's getting batters out. Once he scales this mental hurdle, he can hopefully be the late-inning bulwark he was in the past—before the Red Sox almost ruined him in a dumb starter experiment.
