Felix Doubront pitched well enough to win. Except for his maddening habit of building up his pitch count early, the young lefty really only made one mistake (a two-run homer) in his six innings, as he struck out nine in an
eventual 4-1 loss to the "division leaders". Kevin Youkilis made his triumphant return by clouting his third home run of the year—the same number as Adrian Gonzalez (who has missed no time). Once again, the Carmine Hose occupy last place by themselves.
