'86 World Series Ball Sells For Almost Half A Mill

Sox Bench After Game 6
The ball that rolled between Bill Buckner's legs during Game 6 of the 1986 World Series (you know, after the game was already tied) sold for $418, 250 at auction today in Dallas.

Too bad the ball that became the wild pitch/passed ball allowing the tying run to score wasn't as infamously at bid. Hopefully, whoever owns it now, will just put it in a safety deposit box somewhere in Texas and let poor Billy Bucks live out his life in peace.
