Josh Beckett had a rough first inning, and that was all Gavin Floyd and the White Sox needed, as
Boston fell to Chicago, 4-1. Beckett gave up three runs in the first, effectively putting the game out of reach as Floyd carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning.
The Red Sox broke through on an RBI hit by Cody Ross—but that was all the offense the Carmine Hose could muster on this day. Boston falls back under .500 with the loss, going 6-1 on the road trip.
