Mark Melancon Sets Major League Record

Don't get too excited. The relief pitcher who came in the "Curse Of The Jed-Bino" Trade with Hosuton faced six batters in the eighth inning last night, retired none of them and coughed up three home runs. That had never been done before in MLB history. Fitting for a 100-year old ballpark, wouldn't you say?

This dubious distinction came amidst an 18-3 drubbing by the Rangers—none of which is worth commenting on, except for two noteworthy items:

1.) Jon Lester stunk the joint out—needing 80 pitches to record 6 outs;

2.) Josh Hamilton deserves the "Natural" soundtrack he gets in Arlington, after his prodigious blast over the bullpens in right.
