Daniel Bard, the presumptive fourth starter who started the Spring so well, got shelled today at jetBlue (by the way, we will post a poll soon to pick a proper nickname for the new park). Bard went just 2.2 innings and gave up 7 runs.Luckily, the contest was not a total loss, as Alfredo Aceves, the possible fifth starter, pitched well through five innings—at one point retiring eight straight.
This rotation is by no means set and can't compete with the Rays, Yankees, Tigers, Angels—or even Rangers. Do the math.
