Readers of this site know we've been talking a lot about exciting 19-year old shortstop prospect Xander Bogaerts. The young Aruban is being paired with Will Middlebrooks as the two "can't miss" prospects in the Boston organization. Bogaerts (you know he will be called 'Bogie" at Fenway someday) has a ton of power in a lean, lanky frame. Some feel that, when he fills out physically, he will project as more of a third-baseman or corner outfielder. For now, he is refining his SS skills in low-A ball. However, as Mike Andrews of SoxProspects.com points out, we may see a rapid rise through the system next year—perhaps all the way to Double A Portland. Keep an eye on this kid.
