Bobby Valentine announced this morning that Alfredo Aceves and Carlos Silva—both candidates for the number five starter role—will not report to Spring Training on time.Silva, who lives in Minnesota, doesn't really have a legitimate excuse. In any event, neither of these guys is getting off on the right foot with a new skipper. Silva isn't really a serious candidate for the role, but Aceves was considered by many to have a legitimate shot at the five spot.
