The
Red Sox announced the signing of twelve minor league free agents—the most important being Rich Hill, Brandon Duckworth and Tony Pena, Jr. For some unknown reason, they also signed Carlos Silva (pictured), who last pitched in the major leagues in 2010 and has a career ERA of 4.68 and a career WHIP of 1.397. Yikes! Is Pawtucket
that desperate for pitching? Hill and Duckworth could sniff The Show in 2012 if the usual pitching injuries occur mid-season.
