Another drawback might be that Scott is primarily a left-fielder—although this could be a good excuse to move Carl Crawford to right—taking advantage of his speed in that more expansive part of Fenway. Of course, the tight purse-strings on Yawkey Way might obviate any such move. And, the final nail in the coffin is the fact that Scott holds some outspoken wacky political views that wouldn't fit with the NOG's liberal orthodoxy.
