According to the Globe's Nick Cafardo, the Red Sox will not take Alfonso Soriano in any compensation deal for Theo Epstein. Apparently, Theo has been trying to weasel the aging outfielder (still owed $54 million by the Cubs) to Boston. BenCher, rightly, has said "No". Even with Chicago eating a major portion of Soriano's salary, there is no reason to burden the Red Sox with the ex-Yankee and Ranger.
