According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, Roy Oswalt (as well as the rest of the known pitching universe) is out of the financial range of the Red Sox. Cafardo reports that both the Evil Empire and the World Champion Cardinals are displaying interest in Oswalt. Maybe BenCher's 'Patience Offensive' will yield a low-cost fifth starter before Spring Training, but it seems to us that a relatively low-risk, one-year deal with Oswalt (pictured) would make a lot of sense for this rotation.
