In an otherwise bland "expose" of his time as a PR flak for the Red Sox, Doug Bailey did reveal a fascinating tidbit in his BOSTON Magazine article. Bailey claims that he engaged in a conversation with Nomar Garciaparra in which the star Red Sox shortstop implied that the moon landing was a fake. After Bailey ushered two female astronauts onto the field at Fenway, Nomar inquired as to who they were. When informed, Nomar supposedly said:
“Hey, I saw this show on Fox that said we never really went to the moon. The whole thing was faked. Can I talk to her about that?”
Are we to believe now that Nomar was a 'tin-foil on the head' conspiracy nut? Oh, the humanity! The only explanation is that Nomar and Carl Everett were teammates for two years.
