Bud Selig Gets Kiss In Mail From Owners

Major league baseball owners re-upped Commissioner Bud Selig for two more years—through the 2014 season. The longest-tenured MLB honcho since Kenesaw Mountain Landis (who had twice the charisma), Selig's rule will perpetuate the owner-friendly tone of MLB. Selig, who once owned the Milwaukee Brewers, has been hailed by some for at least confronting the steroid problem in baseball. Of course, he also brought us the scourge of inter-league play which, starting next year, will be an everyday abomination. On a more personal note, Bud stiffed our request to award the 1904 World Series title to the Red Sox—since the New York Giants refused to play them in the second ever Fall Classic.
