Attention Pitch-Mart Shoppers!
The Blue Light Special table is up and open for operation. The asking prices for three key starting pitcher free agents has begun to drop in response to market dynamics. Teams like the Red Sox who have waited on the sidelines and gambled that supply and demand would eventually work in their favor may have been right. We still think it was a wrong-headed bet, since the best options are already gone. Nevertheless, if Boston can scoop Roy Oswalt for one year and eight million dollars, we would be very happy. Same with Kuroda or—to a much smaller degree—Edwin Jackson. Let's see if BenCher can pull one of these off before MLK Day on Monday.
