Why Is The '12 All-Star Game Not In Boston?

For all the supposed clout the NOG has with Bud Selig, they weren't able to pull off the biggest no-brainer in history: hold the 2012 All-Star Game in Boston during Fenway Park's Centennial Year. Piece of cake, right? Good for Boston. Good for the Red Sox. Good for Major League Baseball. A real "Kumbayah Moment" for everyone.......not. Today, reminder emails were sent out by the Kansas City Royals to come celebrate the 2012 ASG in a cow town in the middle of nowhere (trust me, I've been there). How ridiculous is this? Is there some momentous milestone that the Royals are celebrating in 2012? No. Is the city of Kansas City celebrating something special (like maybe changing their name to Missouri City—since they are, in fact, in Missouri)? No. As far as I can tell, the only reason cited in the Royals PR spiel is that it's been 39 years since the last time they hosted. Huh? Who cares! The game should be in Fenway. Period.
