Honestly, you can't make this stuff up. After the epic 2011 collapse, the schedule-makers over at MLB decided to make the Red Sox 2012 Home Opener on (are you ready?)—Friday The Thirteenth Of April. Quite a sense of humor on those guys. Not only that, Bobby V. will get to match-up against the guys who booted Boston from the post-season tournament—the always interesting Tampa Bay Rays. Visions of that cheap Longoria home run against the Empire will be dancing in the heads of the Carmine Hose as they take the field. There's definitely a Shaughnessy book in this. It could only happen to the Red Sox.
