According to a Tweet by ESPN's Buster Olney,
the Red Sox are still seeking a closer—despite the signing of Mark Melancon and the internal options of Bard and Jenks. Olney reports that among the possibilities for Boston is a trade for A's closer Andrew Bailey (pictured above). Bailey's price in prospects would be high—but not as high as the price for his teammate, Gio Gonzalez. Apparently, BenCher is heeding the advice of our readers—a solid majority of whom think the 2012 closer will be from a trade or free agent acquisition.
